                        ‘Lost Weekend’
‘Lost Weekend’ by Gillian Grattan is the story of Vanessa and Harry, a married couple who are having a weekend away… from each other.
Vanessa is dressed to kill and heading up North for her sisiter's hen weekend. Harry is counting the hours to her departure. In fact he just can’t wait to see the back of her to get stuck into a wild weekend while she's away.

Taking a glimpse into the lives of Harry and Vanessa, ‘Lost Weekend’ is a hilarious and poignant look how they cope with being apart.

                        ‘Conditioned’

‘Conditioned’ by Maria Ann Hylton is set in a prison laundry room.

"Just because I've broken the law doesn't mean I've done anything wrong!"

Two women are on remand awaiting trial for their unlawful activities. Streetwise Bev gets her buzz from 'mugging degenerates' and Clara middle class and Irish has a few problems of her own. This bitchy, sinister black comedy examines thier predicaments.

‘Lost Weekend’ & ‘Conditioned’ was first presented in axis in Nov ‘07 as a rehearsed reading during the ‘Playground’ series, an axis initiative that supports emerging writers giving them the opportunity to showcase new work.
