Happy Birthday Dear Alice

1st May 2012 to 3rd May 2012
Nothing brings out the complications of human interaction like families. Farrell here focuses on that most exquisite and conflicting of moments when a parent – in this case Alice who is long widowed – is deemed by her adult offspring to need “to be looked after.” The playwright effects a tour de force by using hilarity as the vehicle through which we witness the very real cat-and-mouse struggle going on in which
Alice relentlessly seeks to outwit the equally relentless energy of her children Barbara and Barry to have her installed in a local nursing home for the rest of her days.
