July: Made in Dreams (keeping alive the connection with the playful inner child and the power of imagination) by Mia Van Evelingen & Elena Brossa. This exhibition is about the inner child, your daydreams and your hidden imagination. When we are children we have no limits to what we wish for ourselves as grown ups.

August: Post Polio Support Group Exhibition. The Post Polio Support Group (PPSG) decided to set up an art group two years ago. The group caters to all artistic mediums and talents e.g. painting, drawing, ceramics and mosaic. This exhibition is a celebration of the work by all the artists.

Sentiments

1st January 2012 to 29th February 2012
Frances Carton is interested in the precious memories we hold and how the jewellery we wear and objects we keep tell a story about our past. Jewellery and objects are often associated with a precious moment in time from our life. The beauty of a memory, the story it tells makes the piece priceless to the owner. This series of acrylic paintings looks at precious objects/jewellery and links them with their precious memory through painting; exaggerating colour to enhance the mood of the piece and focusing on composition to communicate the memory... a physical expression of this life experience. Ink

1st April 2012 to 30th April 2012
“Some marks on our skin we choose to make. The rest time makes on us.” Dominic Campbell, Artistic Director Bealtaine.
In 2010 the Bealtaine Festival, Ireland’s unique nationwide celebration of creativity in older age commissioned photographer Aidan Kelly to create an exhibition of original photographs of older people with tattoos. Tattoos can be a sign of belonging or rebellion; they can commemorate someone dear or be an expression; they can be signs of service, servitude or even imprisonment. Gently revealing, they are lasting reminders of time and place. Deliberate ink engraved into skin for a lifetime.
This exhibition will show a collection of photographs from this project.

Lost and Found

1st May 2012 to 30th June 2012
Forum for Arts Ballymun present a group exhibition as part of their series of biannual exhibitions in axis. The theme for this new group exhibition expresses the notion of reclaiming lost, forgotten or discontinued art options involving 10 local artists. It offers an opportunity of realising those imaginings – dormant ‘till now. Art lives in the imagination – it is not born of it – and that is where its presence becomes manifest. In truth, nothing in heaven or earth can provide one with the means of acquiring it, for it is a given.
