AS PART OF POSITIVE AGEING WEEK: The Pictures: Calendar Girls

‘The Pictures’ takes place in our theatre, so you can enjoy the big screen in comfort. Showing a wide variety of films, from classics to modern, there is something for everyone. There is one screening a month which is usually the last Monday of the month. With over 160 members, ‘The Pictures’ is more than just a film club, it has become a great social network for the over 55’s in Ballymun and the surrounding areas.



Reel Youth 

26th September 2009
‘Reel Youth’ is a cross city and cultural programme that invites young people and youth workers from different locations to come together through a creative film making process. This event will see the premiere screening of this years shorts in axis’ 211 seater theatre.



AS PART OF ABSOLUT FRINGE 2009: The Blanch 

16th September 2009 to 19th September 2009
Welcome to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, where you can always be sure of a bargain …especially when you use your 5-finger discount.

Come visit ‘The Blanch’ to see these band of Bouffons (outcast clowns from god-knows-where) take over axis’ theatre to present their anarchic show based on the ‘real-life’ Blanchardstown Centre. The show features live music and is a ruthless comedy is not for the faint-hearted or children.

House of Fun: Ardal O' Hanlon  

21st August 2009
The man made famous by Channel 4’s ‘Father Ted’, O’Hanlon is a founding father of modern Irish stand-up since he helped form Dublin’s Comedy Cellar in 1990. Ardal has a slew of comedy awards (and a BAFTA) to his name.

Waiting for IKEA

Chrissie and Jade spend their days waiting; waiting for the postman, waiting for the kettle to boil and waiting for Coronation Street. They won't shop in Argos 'cos we're waiting for IKEA'.
 
Set in the heart of 'new' Dublin, where night wear is day wear and bitching is
everywhere. Pimlico flats is akin to 'Cheers', everybody knows your name, your business, your record and what your having for dinner.

The Four Seasons & Pas de Quatre (Pugni & Perrot) 

20th June 2009
Our resident ballet class Dublin Ballet Academy is performing their end of year show for everyone to enjoy!  See the culmination of many months of hard work by the dancers as they take to the stage in this fantastic production of "The Four Seasons" with thrilling compositions from Grieg, Suppé, Delibes, etc; and a rare romantic repertoire ballet from 1845 "Pas de Quatre" (Pugni & Perrot) interpreted by the Dublin Ballet Academy soloists.
