Dublin Youth Orchestra’s Teddy Bear’s Concert

Join the fun as two life-size teddy bears take you and your children on a musical adventure. Dance and play to the music of your children’s favourite films, as the Orchestra brings to life the music of Disney and other popular films!

Pumpgirl by Abbie Spallen

Set in a petrol station just north of the Border, located on the wrong side of the fluctuating exchange rate. The business is on its last legs: battered, faded signs grace the stage – desperate attempts at enticing customers with cheap two–litre bottles of cola.
 



Dublin Valentines 

6th October 2008
‘Dublin Valentines’ is the second in a series of twice-yearly public conversations in axis between Dermot Bolger and well known writers who are originally from or now live in Dublin, in which he explores their lives, their work and their relationship with their native or adoptive city. This season Dermot Bolger is in converstaion with Paul Durcan and Brian Keenan.

Gigs & Starts 

3rd October 2008
‘Gigs & Starts’ is a new event joining the regular axis line up. Each season a headline act will be supported by some up and coming singer/songwriters, who have been performing regularly at ‘The Peanut Club’. Don’t miss the first night as kicking off this new event will be Q, Niall O’Shea and Mick Duffy. These three artists will come togetherfor a special performance as they perform together on each others original music.
 



The Pictures Film Club - Meet me in St. Louis 

29th September 2008
Based in St. Louis 1903. Stars Judy Garland. The story is based around the well-off Smith family who have four beautiful daughters, including Esther and little Tootie. 17-year old Esther has fallen in love with the boy next door who has just moved in, John. He however, barely notices her at first. The family is shocked when Mr. Smith reveals that he has been transferred to a nice position in New York, which means that the family has to leave St. Louis and the St. Louis Fair.



Neil Delamere - House of Fun

Kicking off this season is Neil Delamere with his new show 'Creme Delamere' on 27th Sept.

Last Panto in Ballymun 

22nd September 2008 to 26th September 2008
Join us for another chaotic and hilarious lunchtime show by Holding Court while enjoying lunch from the axis café. Ballymun Amateur Dramatic Society is in trouble again. As usual the members are all worried about other matters, all Joyce wants to do is sing, Bernard only wants to build, Margaret will do as she likes, but Gordon the chairman wants bums on seats – and he isn’t afraid to lower his standards!
