Joyce Duffy, Michael McLoughlin & Felicity Williams

Breaking Ground, the Ballymun Regeneration Ltd per cent for art scheme, showcases recent projects by artists Joyce Duffy, Michael McLoughlin, and Felicity Williams. The artists were commissioned under the second phase of Breaking Ground’s scheme announced in 2005, and here display work including drawing, video, publications and audio.



Borradh Buan - Íomhéanna ón Imeall 

2nd October 2008 to 24th October 2008
Taispeántas griangraifeanna ar ghlac an ealaíontóir thar breis is cúig bliana déag agus é ag taisteal ar fud an domhain. Réimse leathan íomheánna idir turtair ollmhóra sa Chairib, campaí teifigh sa Phailistín, na túranna i mBaile Munna, asail beaga i Loch Gorman agus Mannaigh Búdaíoch sa Tibéid. ‘Íomhánna ón Imeall’ or ‘Images from the Edge’ by Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin will feature a broad range of photos (with bilingual captions and background descriptions) from ‘off the beaten track’ over the past fifteen years. All proceeeds from sales go to a children’s charity in Gaza, Palestine. Fáilte roimh grúpaí scoile (ardranganna), Billeoga oibre ar fáil. School groups welcome – worksheets provided. Pup Art 

11th September 2008 to 26th September 2008
An exhibition of paintings and prints to benefit the charity, Dogs Aid. Led by local artists Elke Thönnes and Cecilia Moore, this exhibition will feature work by established artists who have donated all or part of the proceeds from the sale of their pieces to this worthy cause. Dogs Aid, a dog shelter in Ballymun does excellent work in trying to re-home unwanted dogs many of whom would be put down were it not for their hard work and commitment.



Irish Wheelchair Association 

7th August 2008 to 28th August 2008

The artists plan to exhibit a selection of works from projects they have been involved in during the year. These will include video, a digital story telling project, photography and film. There will also be paintings in oil, acrylic, water colour and mixed




The Dream Factory 

5th July 2008 to 22nd July 2008

Running form 14th July, axis will showcase the work of the participants in the axis’ Café Gallery.




Re-exposed

Eamonn Elliot, Cian Harte, Sinead McKeon and Martin O' Grady are graphic artists who have visually documented Ballymun over its last few years of change. Edited from thousands of photographs, these beautiful images celebrate timeless moments from unusual perspectives.




Invent

Exploring the spoken word, rap, song writing and the creative world of music, Invent is a ……..




Bealtaine 

8th May 2008 to 30th May 2008

A group show of work from artists over 55. This work has been chosen and curated by an invited panel of professional artists and curators and displays the wealth of talent and invention existing in art groups and from individuals over 55 years of age studying various visual art forms in our community / in Dublin.




4 Renaissance Women 

3rd April 2008 to 2nd May 2008

Resident axis printmakers Elke Thőnnes and Cecilia Moore have invited fellow artists Dorothy-Ann Daly and Niamh Breslin to join them in an exhibition of new work featuring prints, painting and sculpture.
