Soul Steps

'Soul Steps’ speaks the language of rhythm, bringing to life the centuries-old African tradition of telling stories through step dance. Using their entire bodies as percussive instruments, they trace the history of stepping from the South African gold mines of the 1880s to the slave plantations in the United States to today’s African American fraternities and sororities, where stepping is finding a resurgence. Combining dance, theater, and music into one, ‘Soul Steps’ offers a unique entertainment experience featuring a five-member cast.
