‘Dublin Valentines’ is an annual public conversation between playwright and poet Dermot Bolger and well known Dublin writers. This year his guest is David McWilliams, the leading economic commentator who was the first to see that the Irish boom was merely a credit bubble and among the very few to accurately predict it would end in a monumental crash with bank failures, negative equity, rising unemployment and emigration. Sentiments

Frances Carton is interested in the precious memories we hold and how the jewellery we wear and objects we keep tell a story about our past. Jewellery and objects are often associated with a precious moment in time from our life. The beauty of a memory, the story it tells makes the piece priceless to the owner. This series of acrylic paintings looks at precious objects/jewellery and links them with their precious memory through painting; exaggerating colour to enhance the mood of the piece and focusing on composition to communicate the memory... a physical expression of this life experience.
